Two whitewashed cottages tucked among 400-year-old olive trees on the quiet edge of Pano Arodes. Each has a shaded veranda, an outdoor kitchen with a proper wood oven, and the kind of silence you can only get from being surrounded by trees that were old when Napoleon was born.
The family that owns the grove presses its own oil each November and guests are welcome to watch, taste and lug a tin home. The tavernas of Pano Arodes are five minutes by car, and the road to Lara Bay's turtle beaches starts just up the hill.
